About Navid
Navid Underwood has been playing piano since age 5, first studying at SFIM (San Francisco Institute of Music) in San Francisco with David and Audinga Jacobson. After moving to New York in 2018, Navid studied with renowned international pianist, teacher, and performer Leon Livshin for five years.

Navid has performed at concerts and master classes in the United States, Italy, and Switzerland. He was the New York state winner of the 2021 AFAF (American Fine Arts Festival), which saw him perform at Carnegie Hall.
​
Navid is known for his musicality and technical proficiency. He believes that "mindfulness" while practicing, not duration, yields the most impressive and emotional performances.
​
Navid is a fan of Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Skrjabin, and Rachmaninoff's music. Some of his favorite pianists include Sviatoslav Richter, Dang Thai Son, and Glenn Gould.
